The Furkids

I have a great love for animals, especially dogs. I have three of my own, as well as auntie to another three of my sister's. Yes, that is a total of six dogs at our house. Luckily they are all small dogs, but they still have big barks.

We have a total of four dachshunds, one half pug half dachshund, and one long-legged unknown. My three are one smooth black and tan miniature dachshund (Nugget), the half pug half dachshund (Lulu), and the long-legged unknown (Circe). My sister's are a red long haired dachshund (Jake), a red wire-haired dachshund (Sadie), and the other smooth black and tan dachshund (Little Bit).

The two little black dogs are sisters, Nugget and Little Bit. Nugget is one litter older than Little Bit, but they look just alike. It is sometimes quite hard to tell them apart. The facial expressions give them away though.

Lulu is the oldest, half pug and half dachshund. I got her when I was a senior in high school. She is special for many reasons, including being our first inside dog. She helped bring me happiness when I was down in a slump for a long time. She is also the most human acting of all of our dogs. Daddy jokes that if he believed in reincarnation, Lulu would be it. She will be five this November, already a member of the Grey Muzzle Society. My old lady.

Nugget is my middle child... just turned two in June... and my second in command. She always is jealous of the other dogs and demands to have my full attention. She is the most loving little dog I have ever met. She absolutely loves everyone that she meets and gives plenty of kisses to let you know. She sleeps with me every night, such a cuddle bug. She's always under the covers and usually right up next to me. This little girl may be small, but she makes up for it in feist.

Circe is my youngest and biggest of all six dogs in our house, but its mostly just those oh-so-long legs of hers. She will be turning two in December. She was a rescue, rescued from some abusive people as a little puppy. Never knew she was going to be so tall. She was just a handful when I first got her. Then, she exploded. Legs first. They have to be over a foot long, but she's only 19 pounds. All legs. She's a loving little dog too, just doesn't realize her size and strength. She could easily knock you down when she comes running for love at full speed. Gotta love that wiggle butt though.
